Training

Behavior Services of Western Massachusetts spends a large amount of time and resources on training.  We have a team of qualified individuals who come out to sessions and provide ongoing support and training.

Staff Training

We want to ensure that quality services are happening continuously.  This requires not only the initial training but ongoing support and observation of sessions from the supervising BCBA, Training Director, Training coordinators and supervisors.  Research shows that the treatment your child is receiving is the most beneficial when thorough initial training, ongoing support and feedback is continuously occurring.

Behavior Technicians attend quarterly clinical trainings and BCBAs have multiple training opportunities throughout the year.

Parent Training

Parent Training is a crucial part of the ABA “package”.  Your child learns ways to communicate their needs while decreasing problem behavior through acquired functional communication skills.  These skills need to be generalized to other settings and individuals in order to increase skill acquisition and continue to decrease problem behavior.  Your BCBA will set up times for parent training and will teach you all the skills needed to work with your child outside of sessions.  Without parent involvement, children learn at a slower rate due to decreased opportunities for practice as well as different receiving different consequences to behaviors.

Quarterly Clinical Training

Behavior technicians receive ongoing clinical training through our quarterly clinical trainings.  They receive ongoing support and training in areas like data collection, responding to behaviors and skill acquisition programs.  We believe that no one is ever done with training and it is our work to constantly improve ourselves to provide the best services for our families.
